Lesley-Ann Brown is Hildred Balbirsingh's granddaughter - born in Brooklyn, raised in Trinidad, and currently lives in Denmark. Brown has worked with words all her life. Brown is interested in themes of migration, colonialism, and its legacies and how it particularly applies to family and community relationships, the environment, and our settler communities worldwide. She is the author of Decolonial Daughter: Letters from a Black Woman to her European Son (Repeater Books, 2018) as well as Blackgirl on Mars (Repeater Books, 2023).
